Nokia X20, big screen and top battery

Nokia’s X20 is the new smartphone from the Finnish company HMD Global, designed “to last and stay up to date over time”. It is a mid-range phone that has all the features to be used both for leisure and for work at an affordable price. We have tried all its functions.

The main features

Nokia X20 is equipped with a Qualcomm SnapDragon 450 5G processor and a large 6.67-inch HD + punch-hole display. Although on some occasions with the strong sun the screen is not very bright, we particularly enjoyed watching movies and videos. At the software level we find Android One, the “light” version of Android based on Android 11: it behaves well after all, we found some small shots using many applications at the same time. Very well optimized the battery life from 4,470 mAh, we always managed to reach almost two days of intense use. Nokia X20 has dual sim functionality and has headphone jack.

The photographic sector

At the camera level, the X20 is equipped with ZEISS optics and artificial intelligence software solutions for image enhancement. On board we find a good 32 megapixel front camera; in the rear compartment, on the other hand, there is a 64 megapixel main camera, a 5 megapixel ultra-wide angle camera, a depth sensor and a 2 megapixel macro lens. Among the options provided by the software also the interesting Dual Sight that allows you to shoot simultaneously from different angles. In our tests we really enjoyed shooting both landscapes and close-up subjects such as fruit and flowers. This is not, however, a phone suitable for taking very zoomed photos. The videos are also good, of which we appreciated the focus and color management, always faithful to reality.

Verdict, availability and pricing

We talked about the positive points of this smartphone, which are the screen, the battery and also the photographic sector and that we recommend to all those who need a reliable phone not for purely professional use, not excessively expensive (but with premium features) and that lasts over time. Yes, because Nokia guarantees a three-year warranty, three years of security updates and three years of software updates. Among the downsides, in addition to the non-performing zoom, a screen that does not excel in the strong light of the sun and a software that tends to slow down a bit if we use many apps together. THEIncluded in the package we find a compostable cover “designed – they explain – to be resistant and sustainable”. And speaking of sustainability, we point out that the charger is not included in the package (the smartphone is compatible with all normal USB chargers). Nokia X20 is available in the 8 gigabyte version of Ram and 128 gigabytes of storage space at the list price of 399 euros, in the colors Sand and Blue.
