According to the Russian intelligence services “it is doing everything to hide the real perpetrators and organizers of this international terrorist act”

There Russia has “materials” that would demonstrate Western involvement in the explosions that caused a gas leak from Nord Stream 1 and 2. This was stated by the head of Russian external intelligence services (SVR), Sergei Naryshkin, quoted by the Tass agency.

“We already have some materials that indicate Western involvement in the organization and implementation of this terrorist act,” he said. Naryshkin stressed that the West “is doing everything to hide the true perpetrators and organizers of this international terrorist act”.

It is “very likely” that the leaks in the Nord Stream 1 and 2 trans-Baltic gas pipelines were “deliberately” produced and it is “very unlikely that they are the work of anyone other than a state”, given that “they were not detected in advance”. Thus the Swedish Minister of Energy Khashayar Farmanbar, on the sidelines of the extraordinary Council in Brussels. The episode “must be seen in the context of the current security situation,” he adds. Now, he concludes, “we will have to investigate what happened”.

Only once the investigation into the nature of the explosions is “completed” will it be possible to “determine with certainty what happened”. This was declared by the American Defense Secretary, Lloyd Austin, after a bilateral in Hawaii with his Filipino counterpart, Jose Faustino Jr.

According to CNN, Austin – who spoke with Danish Defense Minister Morten Bodskov in the past few hours – said he had offered the Copenhagen government “all the assistance the United States can provide”.

“Until we have more information or are able to do further analysis, we will not speculate on who may have been responsible,” added the secretary of defense.
