North Korean forces “are absolutely ready to strike and destroy targets at any time from any location”
North Korea’s recent missile tests demonstrate the country’s ability to carry out attacks with tactical nuclear weapons. This was announced by the North Korean leader Kim Jong un, specifying that its forces “are absolutely ready to strike and destroy targets at any time from any position”. The exercises, he then warned, “are obviously a warning and a clear demonstration” aimed at the enemies of the country.
The tests – the KCNA announced today – are a response to the joint US-South Korea naval exercises. The maneuvers have recently resumed, with the participation of the United States and Japan and the deployment of the aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan in the waters off the east coast of South Korea, a move that has infuriated Pyongyang. In response, North Korea “has decided to organize maneuvers that simulate a real war”, said the North Korean agency.
