‘Nutella parole’ arrives, a limited edition in collaboration with Treccani

With this new collection Nutella, which has always brought a smile to the homes of Italians, wants to spread positivity by celebrating, through words and their definitions, the feelings with which we identify or which represent us

Nutella® Words”, the new limited edition of Nutella created in collaboration with Treccani, celebrates the words and the meaning behind each of them, the words that move us and bring a smile to our days. The new edition of the Treccani Vocabulary has over 100,0001 lemmas and meanings, of which approximately 7,0002 constitute the so-called ‘basic vocabulary’, that set of words with which it is possible to elaborate almost all of what we write and say. Inside the ‘Historical-Etymological Dictionary’, the last of the three volumes of which the Treccani Vocabulary is composed, it is possible to discover how each word, with its meaning and its nuances, constitutes a small universe in itself.

With this new collection Nutella, which has always brought a smile to the homes of Italians, wants to spread positivity by celebrating, through words and their definitions, the feelings with which we identify or which represent us. Thanks to the collaboration with Treccani, one of the most prestigious, authoritative and innovative cultural institutions in our country, 21 words were selected, one for each letter of the Italian alphabet, to which a jar of Nutella would be dedicated, with the aim of giving value to what makes life more beautiful: like the A for Love, the C for Creativity, the N for Us, the O for Originality, the U for Uniqueness. But not only that, this will also be a collection to give to people who make every day special, thanks to the emotions they give us.

The jars of the “Nutella® Parole” collection are transformed into a dictionary of positive emotions and each of them is characterized by ad hoc graphics inspired by the word and the world it evokes, giving life to imaginary but representative scenarios: a dancer dancing on vinyl for R for Rhythm, a sun smiling for S for Smile, a red poppy in a field of yellow poppies for U for Uniqueness.

Treccani has made its entire database available, indicating the etymology and meaning of each word and collaborating in the search for original curiosities for each of them. For the letter N, for example, the word ‘we’ was chosen: everyone knows its use as a first person plural pronoun, but not everyone knows that “In Tuscan usage it can hold a singular verb with an impersonal construction: we we eat at eight; back then, we went to the seaside every year” or that “it can also be used by speakers or writers who want to consider listeners or readers as participants in their own reasoning, or who intend to share with other people the authorship of what they say or express (in this case we speak of the plural of modesty): the authors cited by us”.

To learn more about the etymology, meaning and curiosities of each of the 21 words created by Treccani for Nutella, just – starting from October – click on the landing page dedicated to the campaign on the website www.nutella.it. Still within the page, the user will be able to access an area dedicated to the podcast called “Più che parole” (also available on the Spotify platform): 21 episodes of a few minutes, easy to use and with a pop tone, which lead the listener on a journey to discover each word, through etymology, references, curiosities, songs and insights. But not only that, all the curiosities and information mentioned above will also be accessible by directly scanning the QR code on the back of each jar which will take you directly to the campaign landing page.
