The bankable days vary depending on whether it is a bank or postal current account
The calendar of pension payments, as well as welfare treatments, for 2023 is now defined. In fact, we have returned to the pre-pandemic rules, which provide that the payment of pensions must coincide with the first bankable day of each month.
The bankable days vary depending on whether it is a bank or postal current account. In fact, for those who have credit in the bank, weekdays between Monday and Friday are bankable, while at the post office Saturdays are also considered as such.
This is why in some months the payment of pensions between the bank and the post office does not coincide. In detail, the calendar for 2023 is as follows:
January 2023, Tuesday 3 January for banks and post offices
February 2023, Wednesday 1 February for banks and post offices;
March 2023, Wednesday 1 March for banks and post offices;
April 2023: Saturday 1 April at the post office, Monday 3 April at the bank;
May 2023: Tuesday 2 May for banks and post offices;
June 2023: Thursday 1 June for banks and post offices;
July 2023: Saturday 1 July at the post office, Monday 3 July at the bank;
August 2023: Tuesday 1 August for banks and post offices;
September 2023: Friday 1 August for banks and post offices;
October 2023: Monday 2 October for banks and post offices;
November 2023: Thursday 2 November for banks and post offices;
December 2023: Friday 1 December for banks and post offices.
As the most attentive will have noticed, in January the payment of pensions is not expected on the first bankable day of the month, but on the second. Well, no mistake: it is the legislation that provides for it, since – as Money.it reminds us – INPS is given more time to update its computer systems.
We also remind you that these dates do not apply to those who do not have credit on their current account as they have preferred to withdraw in cash. For these, in fact, the method by which payment is deferred over several days continues to be used, to avoid crowds at post offices. We will continue, also in 2023, therefore, with the criterion of alphabetical order.
