In the following years, Pif became the author and then correspondent of the Le Iene program. He then gives life to the cult program The witness, on MTV, in which, with a small video camera in hand, he tells stories, events and people. The program arrived in the ninth season in 2021 (broadcast on Sky Documentaries)

The film is a dramatic comedy, which combines the biography of the protagonist Arturo (and his love for Flora) with the real events of Palermo between the seventies and the early nineties, with the Mafia murders and attacks in Sicily. All with an ironic and sometimes surreal style

In 2015 Pif accompanies and talks with the great Ettore Scola in the documentary-portrait Laughing and joking, directed by the director’s daughters, Paola and Silvia. Between interviews, clips, unpublished films, it is a homage-amarcord dedicated to one of the best authors of Italian cinema

In 2016 Pif’s second film as director arrives in theaters, At war for love, of which he is also a leading actor and screenwriter. Filmed mainly in Erice, it premiered at the Rome Film Fest

The film is set in 1943. The protagonist Arturo Giammarresi is a boy from Palermo who emigrated to New York. In love with Flora, he wants to marry her but for a series of coincidences he finds himself enlisted in the American army which is landing in Sicily

In the end, between personal exchanges, mafia interests and misunderstandings, Arturo manages to return to the United States and despite the many obstacles he will be able to get married with his Flora (played by Miriam Leone). The film allowed Pif to win the Young David

Pif plays Paolo, a married man with children who has been in a car accident. He finds himself in heaven where he is allowed to return to Earth for an hour and 32 minutes, accompanied by an angel (played by Renato Carpentieri). In this short space of time he has to sort out all the important matters that he had left unfinished with his family

The third film directed by Pif was released in 2021. It is about And we like assholes stood and watched, a satirical comedy with science fiction elements, an original production by Sky Italia, presented at the Rome Film Fest and then distributed on Sky Cinema. Pif, in addition to director and screenplay, is also one of the actors of the cast, together with Fabio De Luigi, Ilenia Pastorelli and Valeria Solarino

The plot is set in the near future. The protagonist Arturo (De Luigi) is a manager who is fired and discharged by his partner. He ends up being a rider and rents half the apartment in a professor (Pif) who rounds off his salary by writing hater articles. Arturo is exploited and paid little. To overcome loneliness, he signs up for a program that combines it with a hologram. He falls in love with Stella (Pastorelli), who in the end turns out to be a real person and the two will be able to meet and run away together.
