Pirelli awarded the 9 best ‘sustainable’ suppliers

The awards awarded each year to 9 of the more than 15,000 suppliers in the global supply chain, which have distinguished themselves in making the Pirelli supply chain even more sustainable and innovative, were delivered in Milan.

To meet the challenges of the current macroeconomic scenario through an increasingly sustainable supply chain with lower CO2 emissions, focused on the high quality of raw materials and services, and on continuous innovation, also through a global presence and stability of supplies. These are the main elements that have guided the assignment of the Pirelli Supplier Awards 2022, the recognition that Pirelli assigns each year to 9 of the more than 15,000 suppliers in its global supply chain, who have distinguished themselves in making the Pirelli supply chain even more sustainable, innovative and of excellent quality.



The 9 suppliers of raw materials and services who have distinguished themselves in the last year (of which two Italians, DHL Global Forwarding and Fortek) have been awarded today by the Vice President and CEO, Marco Tronchetti Provera and the Chief Procurement Officer, Andrea Maganzani , during a ceremony at the Pirelli headquarters in Milan, which was attended by the Group’s top management. During the ceremony, which was attended by the approximately 150 preferred suppliers of the Group, the strategy of Pirelli was also reaffirmed, which provides for a roadmap of growth in the use of innovative materials derived from renewable sources or recycled to achieve the objectives of the Group’s business plan to 2025. The important element for sustainability was also mentioned, represented by the decarbonisation process, to which the company’s partners are called to contribute, in order to reduce the CO2 emissions of the Pirelli’s supply chain in 2025 compared to the 2018 figure.

Commenting on the initiative, Tronchetti Provera underlined how “the sharing of corporate values ​​with our suppliers is a key step in achieving the set objectives, in particular those linked to sustainability and innovation. Strategic elements that allow us to remain competitive even in this particular period. This is why we wanted to reward companies that have become important partners of our business all over the world ”.
