Pnrr, Dragons and Melons divided. The premier: “No delay, goals achieved”

According to the leader of Fdi “we inherit a difficult situation”. The premier: “We would not have had the money from the EU”

For Giorgia Meloni there are obvious delays that are difficult to recover. But for the premier there is no delay and the objectives have been achieved. On the PNRR, the leader of Fdi and Mario Draghi disagree.

“We inherit a difficult situation: the delays of the PNRR are evident and difficult to recover and we are aware that it will be a lack that does not depend on us but which will also be attributed to us by those who determined it”, said Meloni during the national executive of the party. In any case, “the transition between the old and the new government, yet to be formed, is proceeding in an orderly fashion.

“There are no delays in the implementation of the NRP: if there were any, the Commission would not pay the money”, underlined for his part the Prime Minister during the control room at Palazzo Chigi.

It is also the natural game of parts. Whoever is preparing to assume the responsibility of government puts their hands forward. And whoever leaves the baton wants to claim the results achieved. “It is up to the next government to continue the work of implementing” the PNRR “and I am sure it will be carried out with the same force and effectiveness”, said Draghi in a passage of his speech at Palazzo Chigi with the ministers and the undersecretary to the presidency of the Council. Roberto Garofoli on the national recovery and resilience plan. “The technical activity of your administrations can and must continue with the same diligence. I remember that, in order to guarantee continuity in the implementation of the NRP, it was decided to create, in the Prime Minister’s Office and in each ministry, offices dedicated to the PNRR which will be operational until 2026 “.

“In the control room of last December, I asked for the maximum effort to continue carrying out the plan. The NRRR is a unique opportunity for the relaunch of Italy, for overcoming the territorial, gender and generational inequalities that weigh on the Country. Its full implementation is fundamental for our credibility towards citizens and international partners. We must keep our commitments and, to do so, we need everyone’s support. I want to thank in particular the local authorities – the Municipalities and Regions – for the work they carry out every day alongside the central administration “, said the premier.

“Thanks to your work – the Prime Minister addressed those present -, today we can be fully satisfied with the results achieved. goals achieved at the end of each semester. The disbursement of European resources depends on the achievement of these objectives, and nothing else. In the first half of 2022, Italy has once again achieved all the objectives of the NRP, as it has ascertained the European Commission last week. Italy could receive another 21 billion euros, after the 45.9 billion it received in recent months. There are no delays in the implementation of the NRP: if there were any, the Commission would not pay the money “.

“As for the second semester – explained the Prime Minister – implementation is proceeding faster than our original schedules. The elections and the imminent change of government required an additional effort to ensure that the new executive – whatever it is – can start from a position as advanced as possible. To date, 21 of the 55 objectives and targets set for the end of the year have already been achieved, and we expect to reach 29 by the end of the month “.
