Political survey: Fratelli d’Italia still the leading party, trailing the Democratic Party by 9 points

The October Political Barometer of the Demopolis Institute: in one year Giorgia Meloni’s party grows by 3 points, dem stable for weeks after a recovery with the election of Schlein

Fratelli d’Italia confirms itself as the country’s leading party with 29%, trailing the Democratic Party by 9 points, currently standing at 20%. This is what emerges from October Political Barometer of the Demopolis Institute. In third position at 16.2% is the 5 Star Movement. At 9.8% we find the League, at 6.5% Forza Italia, at 3.7% Action, at 3.4% the Left and the Greens, with all the other lists below the 3% threshold.

Giorgia Meloni’s party gains three points in one year

β€œIn comparison with the policies of just over a year ago – explains the director of Demopolis, Pietro Vento – Premier Meloni’s party grows by 3 points, the Pd, the 5 Star Movement and Salvini’s League by one point or just less; Forza Italia, orphan of Berlusconi, loses more than a point and a half.”

Observing the Demopolis trends, we note that the consensus of Fratelli d’Italia has remained stable for months, just under 30%, regardless or almost regardless of political events and fibrillations. Elly Schlein’s Democratic Party, after having recovered the consensus lost after the general elections at the beginning of 2022 with the primaries, has remained the second party for weeks at around 20%, but for the moment without appearing capable of aiming for the first step of the electoral podium.
