Poste Italiane reaffirms its leadership in the ESG Global Score of the MIB® ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) indexthe survey promoted by Euronext and Borsa Italiana which analyzes the best practices in the field of environment, sustainability and corporate governance adopted by the Blue Chips of Piazza Affari. The methodology underlying the index provides for a ranking of the top 40 companies based on ESG criteria, selected from among the 60 most liquid Italian companies, and excludes those involved in activities that are not compatible with ESG investments.
The index constituents are weighted by free float market capitalisation. The Mib® ESG index combines the measurement of economic performance with ESG assessments in line with the principles of the United Nations Global Compact. The composition of the index is based on the analysis of ESG criteria by Vigeo Eiris (VE), a company of Moody’s ESG Solutions, which evaluates the ESG performance of issuers. The composition of the index is updated on a quarterly basis in order to include companies whose ESG performance may have improved sufficiently.
The leadership within the Mib Esg index of Borsa Italiana adds to the numerous other awards obtained by Poste Italiane, which is present in the most prestigious international sustainability indices, including the Dow Jones Indices for the fourth consecutive year, Euronext Vigeo- Eiris Indices, Integrated Governance Index (Igi), Euronext Equileap Gender Equality Eurozone 100, Ftse4Good, Bloomberg Gender-Equality Index, Stoxx Global ESG Leaders. To these are added the ratings by important international agencies, such as the “AA” by Msci, the “A-” by CDP and the “Top 5% S&P Global Esg Score 2022” by Sustainability Yearbook 2023. Furthermore, the Group obtained an ESG Risk Rating of 13.7 (Low risk) from Sustainalytics and was recognized as the top ESG performer on a panel of over 15,000 companies assessed worldwide, obtaining the recognition of “2023 Industry Top-Rated”.
