Puppet Jazz! The history of Jazz in six puppets by and with Enrico Intra. The program

For the first time, in the memory of man and puppet, jazz music, represented by its most famous names, meets and dialogues with a company of wooden heads, the work of Carlo Colla & Figli. Six great jazz names, Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, Charlie Parker, Miles Davis, John Coltrane and Enrico Rava tell their stories through the puppets who impersonate them on stage. They play, in agreement with the performers in flesh and blood, the immortal melodies that have handed them over to history through six very young emerging musicians, who give sound to the instruments of the marionettes of the Carlo Colla & Sons.

the magic number

But seven is the magic number, because on stage there is also a great jazz name, as well as the creator of the show, Enrico Intra. Everything is accompanied by the narrative voice of Klaus Bellavitispresent on stage alongside the puppets, based on text by Maurizio Franco, which characterizes each character animated by the puppeteers on sight, i.e. without the use of the maneuvering bridge. The six very young emerging musicians who give sound to the puppet instruments are the best students of Civic Jazz Courses in Milan.

The songs performed are:

Jazz Puppets (Live Enrico Intra)

Potato head blues (Louis Armstrong)

TheMooch (Duke Ellington)

Ornithology (Charlie Parker)

Acknowledgment (John Coltrane)

Jean-Pierre (Miles Davis)

Spider blues (Enrico Rava)
