Registrations for the Didacta Sicily Fair are underway

Registrations are open for the first edition of Fiera Didacta Italia Sicilian edition, the most important trade fair event dedicated to school innovation, which will take place from 20 to 22 October 2022 in the spaces of Sicilia Fiera Exhibition Meeting Hub in Misterbianco in the province of Catania. The event, which covers an exhibition area of ​​12,000 square meters with over 75 Italian and foreign exhibitors, is aimed at all levels of education and training: nursery school, area 0-6, primary, first and second grade secondary, institutes professionals, ITS, universities, scientific research and professional training institutes, as well as professionals from the school world, companies and professionals in the school supply chains.

The companies will present important innovations, starting from the electronics sector (robotics, automation systems, new generation lims, etc.), applications, such as immersive classrooms, metaverse, augmented reality and also many new proposals and innovative solutions on the subject of school furnishings and digital and editorial content.

The Sicilian edition of Fiera Didacta Italia, which repeats the ‘winning’ format of the national edition, is organized by Firenze Fiera in collaboration with the Sicilian Region. Scientific partner is INDIRE, the National Institute of Documentation, Innovation and Educational Research. Partner: Didacta International. The exhibition proposes a scientific program of the highest level, making use of an organizing committee which includes, alongside Firenze Fiera, the Ministry of Education, the Sicilian Region, the Regional School Office, the Metropolitan City of Catania, the Municipality of Catania, the Municipality of Misterbianco, the universities of Catania, Palermo and Messina.

The program includes over 75 training events, including immersive workshops and seminars and conferences, designed on various themes, from the scientific and humanistic to technological and school architecture, up to the artistic-musical space and learning. There are different types of activities that may interest managers, teachers of kindergartens, primary, lower and upper secondary schools, the world of research and the university.

During the Fair, teachers will be able to find information desks to participate in the Erasmus and Pon programs.

The first Sicilian edition is dedicated to the centenary of the birth of the educator Mario Lodi. (born in Piadena, in the province of Cremona, on February 17, 1922) who, inspired by popular pedagogy, placed children at the center of the school, listening to their voices and valuing their experiences, in order to learn to read the world through their eyes. It is the class concept of “doing together”, which Don Lorenzo Milani applied in his school in Barbiana.
