Research, Anvur: “Quality has risen in 5 years, decisive young researchers”

The Third Research Quality Assessment 2015-2019 has been published by the Agency,

Substantial improvement in the quality of the Research produced by Italian universities and research institutes, with a decisive role played by young people researchers, and the confirmation of a process of getting closer to the quality of all research institutions. These are the main results that emerge from the detailed analysis – at the level of individual Departments and individual Scientific Areas – of the third Research Quality Assessment (Vqr) exercise, relating to the period 2015-2019, which were presented today at Rome by the National Agency for the Evaluation of the University and Research System (Anvur) during an event which was also attended by the Minister of University and Research (Mur), Maria Cristina Messa, the president of the Conference of Rectors Ferruccio Resta and Conper Antonio Zoccali.

President AnvurAntonio Uricchio expressed “great satisfaction with the completion of the new Vqr, thanking the staff of the agency, the expert evaluators, selected through a public draw, the 11,000 external auditors and then the 130 institutions evaluated that have conferred 600 cases of third mission and 183,000 scientific works (compared to 118,000 in the previous year), edited by over 65,000 researchers “It is, Uricchio underlined,” a complex, delicate, demanding process, carried out in full transparency and above all a valuable contribution to promoting the value of quality in research and in the recruitment of young scholars “.

In addition to providing a particularly rich representation of the Research Italian, the results of the Vqr are used by Mur to restart, already from this year, 80% of the reward part of the Ordinary Financing Fund (Ffo) and to identify the Departments of the Italian state universities that are competing to obtain an important extraordinary loan, intended to support a project of Research and five-year development of excellence, in accordance with the provisions of Law 232 of 2016. The 2015-2019 Research Quality Assessment exercise (hereinafter VQR3) was one of the fundamental activities carried out byAnvur from September 2020 to July 2022.

The activity was fully shared with the entire Board of Directors Anvur composed by Alessandra Celletti, Marilena Maniaci, Menico Rizzi, Massimo Tronci, Antonio Uricchio, with the Director of‘Anvur Daniele Livon, and with the Manager Anvur of the Marco Malgarini Research Area. Alessandra Celletti, in addition to having assumed responsibility for the exercise, accompanied the activities of the areas of Mathematical and Computer Sciences, Physical Sciences and Third Mission; Menico Rizzi followed the areas of Chemical Sciences, Earth Sciences, Biological Sciences, Medical Sciences, Agricultural and Veterinary Sciences; Massimo Tronci dealt with the areas of Architecture, Civil Engineering, Industrial and Information Engineering; Marilena Maniaci has followed the areas of Sciences of antiquity, philological-literary and historical-artistic sciences, historical, philosophical and pedagogical sciences, political and social sciences and Antonio Uricchio the areas of psychological sciences, legal sciences, economic and statistical sciences, economic sciences -company, Third mission.
