She did it with power, with emotion, and wearing a refined dress that emphasized the shape of her pregnancy.

Rihanna showed up on the champagne carpet at the 2023 Oscars in a Alaïa leather dress, custom made. Worn over a sheer turtleneck bodysuit, the gown featured a dramatic train and strategic cutouts at the legs. To complete the look, Giuseppe Zanotti heels, pendants with brown diamonds and a bold cocktail ring by Moussaieff.
For the exhibition, then, she chose a second precious look, made of lace and jewels. The black bra embellished with a shower of crystals, with transparent straps, was paired with black pants with a gold floral design. The outfit, custom made for her by John Galliano’s Maison Margiela, was completed with black pumps, black leather gloves, layered diamond necklaces, a thick diamond bracelet worn over the gloves, and diamond pendants.
At the end of the performance, the audience gave Rihanna a standing ovation.
For Rihanna, it was the first Oscar nomination. The statuette for the best original song, however, was surprisingly won by “Naatu Naatu” from the film RRR. It is about theto first Indian song to win such an award.
