Robert De Niro will star again in a tv series. The news is relaunched by Deadline, according to which the Oscar-winning actor will star and executive produce a Paramount+ police series (also visible on Sky Q and via the app on the Now Smart Stick). The title of the series is Bobby Meritorious and to take care of the screenplay is Billy Ray, known for example for Hunger Games.

What do we know about Bobby Meritorious

According to initial information, the series should be set in the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York. When Avery Accomando, informant in the bureau’s biggest case, attempts to bring down this historic institution, only one man can stop him: Bobby Meritorious (De Niro), a legendary ex-cop turned prosecutor.

The second TV series announced in a few weeks

Robert De Niro is 79 years old and in his long film career he has collected eight Oscar nominations, winning two statuettes: best supporting actor in The Godfather – Part II and Best Lead Actor in wild bull. Bobby Meritorious is the second De Niro-starring TV series announced within a month. In fact, at the beginning of March, the news was released that the actor will star in a Netflix miniseries entitled Zero Day: it is a political thriller written by Eric Newman (narcos), Noah Oppenheim (Jackie) and Pulitzer-winning journalist and author Michael S. Schmidt. Directing the six episodes should be Lesli Linka Glatter (Homeland, Mad Men).
