Roe deer in the torrent of Trentino, Oipa: “Immediately the authorization to save it”

“We are ready but the green light is missing and every hour that passes is an hour of suffering and suffering for the poor animal”

A roe deer stuck and with a damaged leg has been along the banks of the Leno stream in Rovereto, in the province of Trento, for weeks. For days, the local section of the International Organization for the Protection of Animals (Oipa) has made itself available to assist in the operations to bring it to safety, having set up walkways and adopting appropriate precautions but, without the authorization of the Forestry District Office of Rovereto and Riva it will not be possible.

Today the legal office of the national Oipa takes the field whose manager, the lawyer Claudia Taccani, has sent an urgent Pec to the forest managers in which she requests in the interest of animal welfare and compliance with the legislation relating to the management and rescue of the fauna, we ask for an answer and an immediate positive response to the request already sent in recent days by the delegate of the Trentino Oipa, Ornella Dorigatti. The association is monitoring the situation and has made itself available to assist in the intervention, at its own expense, with the presence of a veterinarian expert in wild animals, in order to rescue the animal and treat it at a specialized clinic in Trento.

“Rescue is increasingly urgent and every hour that passes is an hour of suffering and suffering for the poor deer – declares the president of Oipa, Massimo Comparotto – We hope that the District Forestry Office to which we too have turned, after the unheard request of our section of Trento, give the go-ahead for the rescue as soon as possible”.
