Naval maneuvers with China in the Pacific are underway

Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian Vladimir Putin arrived in the Uzbek city of Samarkand to take part in the summit of the SCO, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. On the sidelines, today, a meeting between the two leaders is scheduled, the first since the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Xi’s trip to Uzbekistan is the Chinese president’s first overseas trip in over two and a half years.

Beijing and Moscow are increasingly isolated from the West, with China supporting Russia and blaming the United States and NATO for the war in Ukraine.
