The Uberto Crivelli Visconti and Giulio Calabrò crew of the Marina Militare Sports Group won the first stage of the National Circuit of the 49er Olympic class which took place last weekend in Naples. The organization made it known today with a note. The event, organized by Reale Yacht Club Canottieri Savoia and Circolo Canottieri Napoli, saw the participation of eleven crews who, in the splendid scenery of the Gulf of Naples, challenged each other for three days by completing all 12 scheduled races, thanks to the professionalism of the Regatta Committee chaired by Alessandro Testa, supported by Francesco Coraggio, and to a breeze of 10-12 knots which characterized the Neapolitan weekend.
The Navy crew closes the first stage of the national circuit with 15 points and no less than 16 points behind Zeno Marchesini-Michele Semeraro (Fraglia Vela Malcesine), who have always crossed the finish line in the first five positions. The crew of the Circolo della Vela Bari completes the podium, formed by Alfonso Palumbo and Edoardo Conti, who worked until the last race to climb up the standings, bringing home excellent partial times on the final day.
Representing Campania were the brothers Federico and Riccardo Figlia di Granara of the Circolo Vela and Remo Italia, who concluded the event in fifth position, Raffaele Milano, Pepo Orofino and Giorgia Deuringer of the Reale Yacht Club Canottieri Savoia and Alessandro Mare of the Circolo Canottieri Irno Salerno. Impeccable organization on land, where the crews were hosted at the Molosiglio headquarters of the Canottieri Napoli, thanks to the support of the president Giancarlo Bracale, the sailing director Giuliano Cuomo and the indefatigable Edoardo Femia. Porsche, Gruppo Ala, Ventrella and Banca Intesa supported the event, making the stay of athletes and companions in the Neapolitan city even more pleasant.
At sea, the organizational structure was able to count on the personnel of the Canottieri Savoia with, at the forefront, Francesco Torre and Andrea Sorrenti, assisted by the sports vice president Enrico Milano, with the collaboration of the Navy and the Fiv V Zone led by the president Francesco Lo Schiavo .
