Sailing: Fiv, ‘three special projects for children, over 65 and school kick off with Sport and Health’

“The Italian Sailing Federation adds another important element to its planning relating to sporting practice. A remarkable result for our Federation which, within the context of the contributions allocated by Sport and Health for access to the “Fund for the promotion of grassroots sports in the territories”, saw the acceptance, with 100% funding, of the three projects presented: Restarting in Gonfie Vele, Over 65, Learning navigating – relating respectively to the “children and adolescents”, “target Over 65”, “ School””. Federvela writes it on its website.

A total funding of 1,050,000 euros which will go to encourage sports practice in areas of particular interest to us: Sailing School, Seniors, scholastic world. After the excellent response of the first phase relating to the presentation and adhesion of the projects by the affiliates, the application part which will develop the proposed activities is now starting.

For Francesco Ettorre, Fiv President, there is “great satisfaction with the assignment, by Sport and Health, of 100% of the resources required for the promotion of grassroots sporting activity in the area. An important project that sees 1,050,000 euros totally available to affiliated companies and their members to further encourage areas of particular interest to us such as the world of school with the Stem project and school 2.0 with the Ripartire a Gonfie Vele project . The first phase ended with an excellent result: the Zone Committees, through their Presidents, responded promptly and effectively by supporting the affiliated companies for the presentation of the projects. Now begins the planning part that we are sure can increase and support these areas of application such as the school and our Sailing Schools.

Antonietta De Falco, Councilor and head of Fiv Special Projects: “The result of this first screening on joining Fiv Special Projects was remarkable, thanks to the coordinated and constant work between the Central Federation and the territory in synergy with the communication sector. The Fiv project proposal for the promotion of the sport of sailing was developed on 3 important assets: the strengthening of the base among the very young; the consolidation of relations with the Ministry of Education with the innovation of Steam teaching related to sailing and well-being, and the enhancement of the Over 65 target. A team effort that does not end here, but becomes even more decisive in guaranteeing correct performance of the monitoring phase of the activities which will take place over six months by the end of the current year”.
