On 14 and 15 November, over 1000 operators in the telecommunications sector discussed some current issues such as infrastructure and the cloud with an important focus on education
A moment of discussion between institutions and industry on issues related to the country’s digital development. This was the main focus of the seventeenth edition of the Salotto, the annual MIX – Milan Internet eXchange event, which took place on 14 and 15 November at the Allianz MiCo in Milan.
The event
During what was the most attended edition ever, over 1000 operators in the telecommunications sector (Telco), representing more than 400 companies in the sector, discussed some current issues such as infrastructure and the cloud with a focus important on education. Those present at the Salotto had the opportunity to visit the stands of the sponsoring companies and participate in a rich session of hundreds of one-to-one meetings. Among the new features of the 2023 edition, the education section, aimed at IT secondary school students, to encourage the meeting between the world of school and work, and the one dedicated to the reference associations for the Telco world, to offer participating companies an opportunity for direct contact. Furthermore, a central theme is that of sustainability, which Telco operators have been paying attention to for some time. From reducing energy consumption to create sustainable data centers, to the use of renewable energy and careful waste disposal, these are the good practices of a sustainable data center.
