Sanremo 2024, Codacons: “Another case of alleged hidden advertising”

“Reports have arrived. A well-known brand of prosecco is involved, we will ask the competent authorities for checks”

Sanremo Festival, for Codacons there would be a “new suspected case of alleged hidden advertising”. This is what the consumer association declared in a note, having received some reports from users regarding the second evening of the singing event. The story, explains Codacons, “would concern an exchange of words between Amadeus and Giorgia about the consumption of Italian bubbles before a singing performance”. “Immediately after this exchange an advertising block would have started in which, the users underlined to us, an advert for a well-known prosecco brand was also inserted. A coincidence perhaps, but it is clear that the question of possible advertising is now unclear during the Festival holds sway on the web and social media and is becoming a topic that viewers are paying more and more attention to.”

For this reason “we will ask the competent authorities, Agcom and Antitrust, to also verify this episode, which is in addition to that of John Travolta’s shoes and the Poltronesofà advertising not expressly indicated to users during the Amadeus comic gags at the Ariston” , concludes the association.
