The Council of Ministers approved the bill

The Council of Ministers, on the proposal of the Minister of Education and Merit Giuseppe Valditara, approved, with an emergency procedure, a bill aimed at establishing the technological-professional training chain and revising the regulations on evaluation of the behavior of male and female students, the so-called conduct grade.

Conduct rating

With regard to the discipline relating to the evaluation of student behavior, it is expected that in lower secondary schools the evaluation is expressed in tenths and, in the case of a behavior evaluation lower than six tenths, that the class council decides on non-admission to the next class or the final state exam of the course of study. For upper secondary schools, in the case of a score of six tenths, the class council will assign the student a critical essay on active and supportive citizenship to be discussed during the state exam interview. Similarly to what happens for the first cycle, in the case of a behavior rating of less than six tenths, the Class Council will have to decide on non-admission to the final state exam of the course of study. Finally, the highest score within the range of attribution of school credit due on the basis of the average of the final exam grades will be assigned only if the behavior grade is equal to or higher than nine tenths.

Technical education

The text, among other things: establishes, starting from the 2024/2025 school year, the technological-professional training chain made up of the experimental courses of the second education cycle, the training courses of the Its Academy, the professional education and training courses and those of higher technical education and training; the regions will also be able to join the technological training chain; provides for the creation of a single education and training offer, also through the possibility of establishing networks (campuses), which can join, in addition to the training institutions mentioned above, secondary schools, universities, institutes Afam, and also other public or private entities: horizontal and vertical passages between routes are ensured within the networks; provides, as the main innovation, that the training chain allows the completion of the technical-professional study path in four years. Students in possession of a professional diploma obtained following a course lasting at least four years will be able to enroll directly in the Its Academy courses, following Invalsi validation.

Furthermore, it provides, for students in possession of a professional diploma obtained at the end of a four-year course, the possibility of taking the state exam without a preliminary exam.
