A Christmas Carol, the most iconic Christmas story there is

The original title of the famous short story by Charles Dickens is A Christmas Caroltranslated into Italian as Christmas carol.

It is perhaps the most famous story in the world, certainly the best known Christmas story. Indeed: we could say that, in the panorama of Christmas-themed stories, it is the second, since the first clearly is the one that tells of the journey to Bethlehem of a pregnant woman and her husband, who will eventually find shelter in a stable and there they will give birth to the child … But, after the birth of Jesus (which is necessarily “the” Christmas story par excellence, since it determines its essence), in second place we find A Christmas Carol.

It is the tale of the miserly and surly Ebenezer Scrooge, a very rich man but at the same time extremely stingy: he is stingy in feelings, and precisely for this reason on the night of Christmas Eve he will find himself confronted with the ghosts of Christmas. There are three ghosts: that of past Christmas, that of present Christmas and that of future Christmas. Each comes to warn him about what the consequences of his actions will be. It is never too late to redeem yourself, change your life and finally save yourself, this is the moral of this timeless tale, much loved by both adults and children.

Many adaptations of Dickens’ story

As one of the most famous stories in the world, of course A Christmas Carol is also the most adapted on the big and small screen. There have been adaptations of all kinds, from those of Disney (whose version could only have in the role of Scrooge the very rich and miserly Uncle Scrooge …) to the live-action of every genre, sauce and vintage.

The original tale, A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens, was published in 1843. And still today it makes the hearts of many readers, and many viewers too, beaten, as this new adaptation which will be released on December 2nd clearly demonstrates. It turns out to be an excellent first (or rather second, since the 2nd box comes out) of the advent calendar, to begin the countdown that separates us from December 25th.
