The first restaurant in partnership will open to the public on 20 September in Rome, in the historic Eni service station in viale America in Eur.
The project was presented todayAlt Station of Taste‘, a collaboration of enilive, a brand of Eni Sustainable Mobility, and the Niko Romito Academy. The first restaurant in partnership will open to the public on 20 September in Rome, in the historic Eni service station in viale America in Eur. The goal is to reach 100 openings in the four-year period starting with the main Italian cities.
“This is the first taste of Enilive, the new brand launched a week ago, and it gives an idea of how we are transforming our company dedicated to biorefining, biomethane production, smart mobility solutions and the marketing of services and all energy vectors for mobility, including through the over 5,000 Enilive Stations in Europe. Enilive and the Niko Romito Academy share values such as constant research, innovation and attention to the customer. Alt Station of Taste represents a unicum in the evolution of services for people on the move and confirms our commitment to being ever closer to the needs of those who frequent and live in our points of sale, not just to refuel. After consolidating the main Italian chain of bars, the Eni Cafés, the first opening of the new format takes place in a station of historical and symbolic value, that of viale America, where we have been present since the 1960s and which today stands out and anticipates the offer that in the future will be extended to many other Enilive Stations, and more”, underlines Stefano Ballista, CEO of Eni Sustainable Mobility.
“For Alt – comments Niko Romito – I imagined a roadside restaurant model because the streets are for everyone. I wanted to work on a popular cuisine offer, with easily understandable dishes, which had an almost domestic connotation and a creative approach, I have created what I myself would like to find when I travel and travel for work: a menu that, from breakfast to dinner, can satisfy the traveller, the motorcyclist, the family in transit, those who stop for a business lunch in an informal atmosphere or those who want to take away a snack, good bread or fried chicken”.
Alt Stazione del Gusto, he adds, “has always been the declination of my research in a more democratic and transversal key. Today this first opening in collaboration with Enilive is the fulfillment of a design idea that will give Alt Stazione del Gusto many ‘homes’ Alt is a project I strongly believe in, which will give new business opportunities to young entrepreneurs and chefs at the beginning of their careers. Creating new jobs, providing careful and in-depth training, sharing values and vision, is for me and the Niko Romito Academy is an important cultural and growth opportunity”, underlines Niko Romito again.
Alt Stazione del Gusto is a unique restaurant model of its kind. Created in 2018 by the 3-star Michelin chef Niko Romito, Alt Stazione del Gusto applies the creativity and technique of an Italian chef, a symbol of research and gastronomic sensitivity, in a popular restaurant format of Italian street cuisine. In an informal and welcoming atmosphere, the menu of ALT Stazione del Gusto is declined from breakfast to dinner in a series of proposals to be enjoyed seated at the table or to take away that make the stop at the Enilive service stations delicious and quality.
For Enilive, the collaboration with the Niko Romito Academy is part of the process of renewing and expanding the range of services in the network of its over 5,000 points of sale in Europe, of which over 4,000 in Italy: Eni stations today have become ‘mobility point’ able to satisfy an increasing number of needs of people on the move, through the provision of services that allow customers to transform the stop for traditional or electric refueling from necessary to useful. In particular, in the viale America sales point there is an area dedicated to recharging electric vehicles through three Plenitude columns, which can also be started and paid for directly in the Alt Stazione del Gusto restaurant.
The space that was previously occupied by the shelter and the fuel dispensers has been transformed into a large and comfortable parking area for customers of the new restaurant, also with stalls dedicated to Enjoy car sharing. The partnership between Accademia Niko Romito and Enilive includes a development plan also through franchising. In addition to the flagships that Niko Romito will manage directly, the project will develop a franchising plan proposing strategic and innovative management and training models. The development project is aimed at a segment of young entrepreneurs interested in becoming managers of a popular quality street cooking format, developed through a streamlined, organized and standardized business model.
For the opening of new restaurants, Enilive will identify and make available locations in strategic positions. The franchise plan provides for training at the Niko Romito Academy, a school of advanced training and professional specialization dedicated to the world of catering and cooking. A training course that will provide all franchisees with accurate preparation in the kitchen (techniques, ingredients, procedures), dining room, marketing and communication.
