Shakira, the song against Piqué is the Song of the Year at the Latin Grammy Awards

Shakira triumphed at the 24th Latin Grammy Awards in Seville with BZRP Music Sessions Vol. 53, the revenge song against her ex-partner Gerard Piqué guilty of exchanging “a Ferrari for a Twingo” and “a Rolex for a Casio” or, metaphorically aside, the Colombian singer for his current girlfriend Clara Chia Marti. The song won the award for Song of the Year. After receiving a great ovation, Shakira reached the stage in the company of Argentine producer Bizarrap for his thanks. “I want to share this Grammy with my colleagues with whom I have had the pleasure of working and learning. With my Latino audience in Spain, in Colombia, in the United States, in Latin America. The Latin audience took me to very high heights, those places that I have dreamed of since I was a little girl and to which I owe everything” said the artist. “I also want to share it with my Spanish audience who has accompanied me through thick and thin, who has never stopped giving me love and support in a single day. I’ll never forget it. This is for you”.

At the last edition of the Latin Grammy Awards Shakira won seven nominations, including those for Song of the Year and Album of the Year. In addition to the first of the two awards, the singer also collected the recognition for the Best Urban Fusion/Performance for the song TQGcollaboration with Karol G. During the evening Shakira then treated fans to a performance of the ballad Acrostic and, just like in the video clip, children Sasha and Milan they sang along with their mother in pre-recorded videos. During the ceremony, two Italian artists also delighted the guests: the super guest Andrea Bocelli and Laura Pausini, who received the Person of the Year award.
