Simple Minds return to Italy after the 2022 tour which concluded with a sold out show at the Verona Arena. The band will be in Milan on April 20, 2024 at the Mediolanum Forum for the European leg of their Global Tour 2024, a world tour that will take them to play in front of a million people, with a show that mixes songs from the latest album and great classics. New Gold Dream Live will be released in October, a celebration of 40 years of the original album.

In the past decade alone, Simple Minds has played to hundreds of thousands of people around the world, including their largest U.S. tour in 2018. Demand to see the band perform well-known hits, including “Promised You a Miracle”, “Glittering Prize”, “Someone Somewhere in Summertime”, “Waterfront”, “Alive and Kicking”, “Sanctify Yourself” and “Don’t You Forget About Me”, has grown year after year, and the band has been consistently acclaimed as one of the best live groups of its generation.

Having sold more than 60 million albums and achieved number one hits around the world, Simple Minds have not only become a must-see live attraction, but have reignited the magic that made them a vital artistic force in their early days and a significant influence on a number of younger artists. Their most recent and critically acclaimed album, “Direction of the Heart”, reached number 4 in the UK Albums Chart and the top 10 in several territories. Reviewing the album, Mojo described the band’s energy as “undiminished”, while other critics lauded the group’s staying power and creativity.

Formed in the Seventies and named after a lyric – “so simpleminded” – in David Bowie’s seminal 1972 single The Jean Genie, Simple Minds have become one of the most successful groups ever to come from the UK, selling over 60 million albums records worldwide, with number one singles on both sides of the Atlantic and number one albums worldwide, including five number one albums in the UK: Sparkle In The Rain (1984), Once Upon A Time (1985) and Street Fighting Years, as well as the concert recording Live In The City Of Light (1987) and the Glittering Prize 81/92 compilation.

Over the past 10 years Simple Minds have rekindled the magic that made them a vital artistic force in their early days, found themselves being referenced by younger artists and playing to tens of thousands of people every year, all over the world. They have been awarded the Q Awards Lifetime Achievement and have received critical acclaim for their latest albums. 2015’s Big Music was called “their best album of the last 30 years” by Mojo magazine, while 2018’s Walk Between Worlds saw Simple Minds embark on their biggest US tour to date and, together with Direction Of The Heart of 2022, peaked at number 4 in the UK charts.
