Ski, World Cup today: Stuhec wins in the downhill, Curtoni third

Sofia Goggia failed to repeat the feat by falling at the Rumerlo exit

In the World Cup downhill, which took place this morning in Cortina d’Ampezzo, on a course shortened due to the wind at high altitude, Sofia Goggia was unable to repeat yesterday’s feat by falling off the Rumerlo: but – also given the absence of Federica Brignone – it was Elena Curtoni to occupy a place on the podium for the blue ones, arriving third behind the Slovenian Ilka Stuhec, which yesterday was second behind Goggia. Second was Norwegian Kajsa Vickhoff Lie.

Curtoni only one hundredth behind the Swiss Lara Gut-Behrami and the Norwegian Ragnhild Mowinckel and thus achieved the eleventh podium of her career. With this result, the skier from the Army Sports Center confirms her third place in the specialty classification, behind the leaders Goggia (480 points) and Stuhec (372). Second among the blue Laura Pirovano, seventeenth at 87 cents from Stuhec who returned to winning after four years after a bad accident suffered in 2019.
