Sla, parade of wedding dresses in Pistoia to help patients and families

The event to support the activities of the Territorial Section in providing home physiotherapy and support for families with ALS will be held on 17 September on the occasion of the National Day

On the occasion of National ALS Day, wedding dresses parade in Pistoia to help patients with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and their families. With a small donation – reads a note from Aisla – it will be possible to have a dream dress and help families with ALS in the area. L’historical company Dante Tessuti of Prato has in fact donated 30 wedding dresses to the Aisla Section (Italian Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Association) of Pistoiadriven by Daniela Morandi. Objective of the initiative: support the activities of the Territorial Section in providing home physiotherapy and support for families with ALS.

For a woman, choosing a wedding dress represents a moment of great importance in the life of a couple. However, in such a difficult historical period, this purchase can be a luxury beyond the reach of many. That’s why this opportunity becomes a real act of love: with a donation of 400 euros it is possible to have a dream dress and, at the same time, help a person with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. From this idea was born the ‘Parade on the Pentagram’, an event to be held on 17 September – on the occasion of the 16th National ALS Day – at the Author’s Garden of the Museo del Novecento e del Contemporaneo of Palazzo Fabroni in Pistoia. The National Day, established in 2007 by Aisla – continues the note – recalls the first sit-in of ALS patients in Piazza Bocca della Verità in Rome, which took place on 18 September 2006. Since then, every year, Aisla has promoted various initiatives to raise awareness public opinion and the authorities on the need for care and assistance for people with ALS.

The fashion show – an initiative sponsored by the Municipality of Pistoia – will be open to all with free admission and will see models Matilde Mucci, Virginia De Luca, Denise Luongo, Elisa Niccoli, Irene Barni, Martina Lucchesi, Sofia Giovannelli Ballerina and Sara Fredians. During the evening, space will also be given to new talents, such as singers and models Giulia Colzi, Mirea Berti, Caterina Calieri, Sofia Ercolini and Rebecca Vestrini. Finally, among the guests, Adriano Mariotti, the champion of the champions of “Don’t forget the Lyricas”; Eki, winner of the third edition of “All together now”; and the talented violinist Francesca Cavicchi.
