Soumahoro in tears: “You want me dead but you won’t kill my ideas” – Video

After the accusations rained down on his family, he defends himself: “I’ve been fighting for people’s rights for a lifetime”

Tell me what have I done to you? I’ve been fighting for people’s rights for a lifetime, for a lifetime… Twenty years on the street fighting to give people dignity. My life has been characterized by the fight against any form of exploitation. You want me dead”. In tears, Aboubakar Soumahoro defends himself against the accusations rained down on his family, after the investigation opened by the Latina prosecutor’s office on the conditions of workers in the cooperatives run by his wife and mother-in-law. “You want to destroy me but you are afraid of my ideas”, attacks the trade unionist and deputy of the Left Green Alliance in a video posted on his Facebook page.

“You’re thinking of burying me but you won’t succeed. I haven’t slept for days. I fought for the people you abandoned. My wife is unemployed, she’s registered with the INPS, she doesn’t currently own any cooperatives. Why don’t you talk to her? When I met her, she was already working in the hospitality sector. Talk to my mother-in-law, ask her who owns her cooperative: I will be the first to strike with the employees and fight for their rights”. “You want me dead – concludes Soumahoro – but you won’t be able to kill my ideas”.
