‘Sowing the future’, Berrino: “Healthy eating reduces the risk of getting sick”

Sowing the Future and NaturaSì Foundation, in World Food Day on October 16have reaffirmed their commitment which has lasted for 12 years and which takes place on the farms of the NaturaSì ecosystem with the event ‘Sow the future’: an event that saw the participation of hundreds of people engaged in the ancient gesture of spreading seeds on a field.



A meeting with a strong symbolic meaning that emphasized the need for promote agriculture that takes care of the natural fertility of the soil without forgetting the importance of a healthy diet that passes precisely from organic products, as explained by Dr. Franco Berrino, Italian doctor and epidemiologist. “To reduce the likelihood of getting sick, it is important to return to a healthy diet that is whole grains, legumes, vegetables, fruit, nuts every day as the basis of the diet”.

“They must be organic – he adds – and I’m not saying this but the world health organization that this type of diet is important. Occasionally you can put an animal product that is meat, fish or cheese. But whole grains must to be man’s daily food and have always been before the industrial revolution. Let’s go back to eating cereals and legumes every day “.
