Spain, attack on former PP leader Alejo Vidal Cuadras: very serious

The former president of the People’s Party of Catalonia, Alejo Vidal Cuadras, 78 years old, is in very serious condition after being hit in the face by a gunshot in Núñez de Balboa street, in the center of Madrid. The former popular deputy was walking alone on the street when a person approached him and shot him from a distance of about two meters.

Police sources later announced that Alejo Vidal-Quadras arrived at the hospital conscious. The current leader of Vox announced that his life is not in danger: “Thank God Alejo Vidal Cuadras is out of danger of his life.” Vox leader Santiago Abascal just announced it. Former president of the Catalan PP, he was also one of the founders of the far-right party Vox. At the moment, the police, informs EFE, are hunting a man who allegedly shot aboard a motorbike. The authorities believe that the attack was the work of a professional with the intention of carrying out a “planned” action.

“We strongly condemn the attack in Madrid. I ask the investigators to find the culprit immediately and we hope that Aleix Vidal-Quadras recovers soon”, said the leader of the PP, Alberto Nunez Feijòo, commenting on the attack.
