Sportcity meeting, Abodi and Barbaro open the works

The works of the first edition of the event promoted by the Sportcity Foundation are underway in Salsomaggiore Terme

Today, in Salsomaggiore Terme, work has begun on the first edition of the Sportcity Meeting, the event promoted by the Sportcity Foundation. The meeting was opened by the Minister for Sport and Youth Andrea Abodi and the Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security Claudio Barbaro.

“I am convinced that politics must adopt a common vocabulary because giving the same meaning to the important issues of sport makes things easier, see for example the passage to the chamber with unanimity on the decree against piracy”, said Minister Andrea Abodi . “Today we are here in Salsomaggiore with many qualified representatives from the world of sport, and I acknowledge that Fondazione Sportcity has started a process with this meeting that in the coming years could help everyone carry out those actions that are often talked about but which are not given always followed. The focus of this conference is on the transformation of cities into places where the opportunity for the right to sport really presents itself”.

“The fact that this government first of all wanted a Ministry of Sport and, moreover, headed by a man of Abodi’s caliber, unequivocally shows how this executive strongly points to sport – underlined Barbaro-. The collaboration between the competent ministries on sport, health, the environment and the school also reinforces this concept. As well as the fact that this government wanted the environment a man who, like me, comes from the world of associations and sport, goes in the direction of a deep work on the sustainability of facilities and events. A sporting event, today, should have a different specific regulation, for example from that of a cultural event. The same goes for sports facilities, which must become sustainable through ad hoc regulations. We often consult with the Minister of Sport to achieve these objectives”.
