Squid Game: The Challengethe reality version of Squid Gamewill arrive later this year. They reveal it in these hours from the streaming platform that will welcome it (the same one that broadcast the television series of records), namely Netflix.
The streamer lets it be known that the new project will be previewed in November (a precise release date has not yet been revealed).
The news was unveiled at Netflix’s first Upfronts event.
Netflix’s biggest series ever will see a reality series featuring 456 players compete for $4.56 million in prize money, the largest prize money for a reality show.

How the reality version of Squid Game will play out
The reality series will unfold in ten parts and will see the contestants compete in various games inspired by the original show, plus some new ones.
In between challenges, their strategies, alliances, strengths, and characters will be tested as competitors are eliminated.
The production of Squid Game: The Challenge
Squid Game: The Challenge is produced by Studio Lambert, the All3Media-backed producer behind Netflix series such as The Circle, The Traitors by Peacock/BBC and The Garden. Shot in the UK, it is executive produced by Stephen Lambert, Tim Harcourt and Toni Ireland of Studio Lambert and John Hay, Nicola Hill and Nicola Brown of The Garden.
Earlier this year, the American magazine Deadlines had revealed that Netflix had faced an independent safety assessment after contestants required medical attention during filming.
Britain’s Health and Safety Executive – or HSE as it’s more commonly known – reminded producers to properly plan for risks in the recreation of the hit Korean drama series, but ultimately decided no further action was needed.
