The leader of the emblematic rock band Aerosmith recently filed a lengthy response to the claims, which were made in a December 2022 lawsuit, arguing that the plaintiff consented to their sexual relationship and that she had immunity as her legal guardian at the time, according to documents obtained by Rolling Stone.
Tyler, now 75 years oldalso requested that will dismiss the claimciting 24 affirmative defenses denying the accusations.
At one point, Tyler even claimed that the plaintiff Julia Misleyformerly known as julia holcomb“did not suffer any injury or damage as a result of any action of the defendant.”
Furthermore, it noted that “if Claimant is found to have suffered damages, then such damages were not caused by the Defendant”.
the answer comes three months after Misley accused the rocker of sexual assault and also alleged that he forced her to have an abortion during their relationship in the 1970s.
In court documents, Misley alleged that Tyler He “forced and persuaded” her to believe that they had a “romantic love affair”, which began when she was 16 and he was 25.
Although she did not name him directly in the lawsuit, Misley she spoke publicly about her relationship with Tyler over the years.
The musician also admitted in his memoir, “Does the noise in my head bother you?” he was in a relationship with a then-unidentified 16-year-old girl.
In fact, he revealed in the book that he “almost married a teenager” because “his parents fell in love with me [y] they signed a document for me to have custody so I wouldn’t get arrested if I took her out of the state.”
In his lawsuit, which was filed just days before the statute of limitations for reporting crimes of child sexual abuse had expired, Misley said the rock star “performed various acts of criminal sexual conduct on her” after meeting at an Aerosmith concert in Portland.
Misley claims that Tyler was able to convince his mother to allow him to become his legal guardian in 1975. after flying her to numerous cities where he was touring and performing the same sexual acts.
However, Misley said they did not take care of her the way Tyler had promised, claiming that he “He continued to travel with her, assaulting her and supplying her with alcohol and drugs.”
He also claimed that finally got her pregnant according to court documents, and he forced her to have an abortion, otherwise he would no longer support her.
Misley claimed that his behavior made her she will leave him and return to Portland to start a new life as a devout Catholic.
Misley’s attorney, Jeff Anderson, criticized the rocker’s submission, saying he is using “false legal conservatorship to avoid prosecution for sexual offences.”
“He’s causing Misley more pain and cheating on her by falsely claiming that she ‘consented’ and that the pain she inflicted was ‘justifiable and in good faith’”, Anderson said in a statement to rolling stones.
“Never before have we encountered such hateful and potentially dangerous as the one launched by Tyler and his lawyers this week: his claim that legal guardianship is consent and permission for sexual abuse”.
