AVAILABLE BY THE END OF 2024
- According to military officials reported by local media, after the launch the vessel will be subjected to various tests and delivered to the Navy by the end of 2024. Meanwhile, another submarine is currently in production
- Taipei aims to operate a fleet of 10 submarines, including the two oldest Dutch-made ones, and equip them with missiles to discourage Chinese ambitions

OBJECTIVE TO REJECT BEIJING
- The head of the national submarine program, Admiral Huang Shu-kuang, said last week that the goal was to repel Beijing’s attempts at an invasion or naval blockade
