Taylor Swift continues to give surprises to her fans. Tonight, through a post on Instagram, the pop star announced the surprise release of “The Cruelest Summer”, the new release dedicated to the song “Cruel Summer”, contained in the album “Lover”, released in 2019, both certified gold record in Italy. “Cruel Summer” achieved extraordinary international success during the past summer and is in the Top 10 in the Global Spotify Chart, currently #7 and at the top of the radio charts in many countries.
“The Cruelest Summer” contains, in addition to the original song, two unreleased versions: “Cruel Summer (Live from Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour)” and “Cruel Summer (LP Giobbi Remix)”.

I watched videos of you guys in theaters where you danced and jumped and re-choreographed, created pranks, cast spells, got engaged, and generally created the exact kind of joyous chaos we’re known for. One of my favorite things you guys did was when you supported Cruel Summer so much that I ended up starting the Eras Tour show with this song. For old times’ sake, I’m releasing live audio from the tour so we can all scream in the comfort of our homes and cars, as well as a brand new remix of LP Giobbi. This new release that the multi-platinum pop star gives to his audience comes a week after the release of the highly anticipated album “1989 (Taylor’s Version)”, out on Friday 27 October.
The album, originally released in 2014, certified platinum in Italy with singles such as “Shake it off”, “Blank Space”, both platinum, and “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together”, certified ‘gold, has already seen excerpts “This Love (Taylor’s Version)” in May 2022 as the soundtrack to “The Summer I Turned Pretty” and “Wildest Dream (Taylors’ Version)”, after the song went viral on TikTok.
With her “Eras Tour”, Taylor continues to consolidate herself as one of the most influential artists of her generation, with a live performance lasting 3 hours, a setlist made up of 44 songs that includes all her albums including the “Taylor’s Version” recordings ”. The tour is generating sold out after sold out with the audience in a frenzy, so much so that during the Seattle shows the live show recorded vibrations similar to those of a 2.3 magnitude earthquake. Furthermore, Taylor decided to give a bonus to all the staff working on the tour, for a total of 50 million dollars. The tour will arrive in Italy on 2 dates scheduled for 13 and 14 July 2024 at the San Siro stadium in Milan and which became sold out on the same day the tickets went on sale.
Taylor achieved a major record by entering the Billboard 200 chart with ten of her albums in the top 100, ranking as the most played albums this week in the United States. At this year’s MTV Video Music Awards you racked up the most nominations with 8 nominations, including “Video of the Year,” a category in which you hold the record for having won three years in a row.
