The teaser trailer of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem
The trailer offers a first look at this new film that emphasizes “adolescence”. The young heroes joke around and film videos of themselves slicing watermelons with swords and ninja stars, with Donatello joking with Raphael. They also explain their origin story to April O’Neil, but spend most of their time clarifying that they were once ordinary turtles born from toxic slime. The “TMNT” characters are the creations of cartoonists Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird, who first introduced the “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” to the world in 1984 as a Mirage Studios comic.
A production…
Point Gray Pictures producers Rogen, Evan Goldberg and James Weaver are overseeing the film with director Jeff Rowe. The last Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie released in theaters was the 2016 live-action, produced by Michael Bay, and before that there was an animated film by Kevin Munroe in 2007. The development of this new reboot has begun in 2020, with Rogen’s production company in partnership with Paramount and Nickelodeon Movies. Rowe directed the film from a screenplay by Brendan O’Brien, who previously co-wrote Rogen’s 2014 college comedy Bad Neighbors. The film’s 2D-style computer-generated animation was done by animation companies Mikros Image and Cinesite. The film will be released in theaters in August 2023.
