The Crowded Room: the official plot
Danny Sullivan is a man who is arrested following his involvement in a shooting in New York City in 1979. In the shape of a gripping thrillertold through a series of interviews conducted by the curious Rya Goodwin, The Crowded Room focuses on Danny’s life unfolding revealing elements of the mysterious past who shaped it and twists which will lead him to a revelation that will change his life. “Stories of people with mental illness can unknowingly become caricatures. They can entertain at the cost of being disrespectful to people who are suffering. We observe unusual behavior with little understanding of the motivations for that behavior and see people represented on screen as others. Not like us,” wrote the author in a letter of thanks for the release of the series.
An Apple TV+ series
The series is also produced by Alexandra Milchan for EMJAG Productions and by Arnon Milchan, Yariv Milchan and Michael Schaefer of New Regency. Kornel Mundruczo, also an executive producer, directed several episodes, including the pilot. Also starring Sasha Lane, Will Chase and Lior Raz along with guest stars Jason Isaacs, Christopher Abbott, Thomas Sadoski and Zachary Golinger.
