The group leaders of the Chamber will have a salary increase


It was decided by the Bureau of Montecitorio, through resolution 45/2023 which the Ansa agency has seen. The necessary resources, it emerged, will be drawn from the contribution granted to the parliamentary groups and consequently, it has been explained, the operation is unchanged in expenditure considering the overall budget of Montecitorio. A salary increase for the group leaders of the House. According to what was decided by the Montecitorio Bureau, through resolution 45/2023 which the Ansa agency has seen, the presidents of the parliamentary groups of Montecitorio will be paid, by the Chamber, an additional indemnity equal to that already paid to the commission presidents, or 2,226.92 euros gross per month, 1,269.34 euros net.

The operation is cost-neutral

Not only that, because the indemnity will also concern the presidents of the components of the Misto group, reduced however by half. Based on what has been ratified, for 2023 the additional indemnity will be charged to the budgets of the individual parliamentary groups. From the following year, however, the indemnity will be paid directly by the Chamber. The vote

The representatives of the Movimento 5 Stelle voted in favor of the resolution of the Bureau of the Chamber, like the members of the majority. The same sources explain that the representatives of Pd, Avs and Roberto Giachetti of Italia viva instead abstained on the vote.
