The Quirinal Treaty enters into force, Mattarella: Italy and France ever closer


The President of the Republic declared that the agreement “is animated by a common vision of the future, which will allow France and Italy not only to strengthen the bonds of friendship which unite them, but to stimulate further consolidation of the process of integration and strengthening of our common institutions”

“With the entry into force of the Quirinale Treaty, France and Italy are even more united, in Europe and in the world, to defend and promote the founding values ​​of our societies: peace, freedom, human rights, economic progress and socially sustainable, respecting the planet’s natural environment”, stated the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, on the occasion of the entry into force of the Quirinale Treaty.

“The Treaty which enters into force today – underlines the Head of State – is animated by a common vision of the future, which will allow France and Italy not only to strengthen the bonds of friendship that unite them, but to stimulate further consolidation of the integration process of our continent and a strengthening of our common institutions”.

“Together with all our partners, in a spirit of authentic European solidarity, we will also be able to overcome the challenges that the Russian aggression against Ukraine has brought to global security and prosperity, by taking the necessary decisions – concludes Mattarella – so that the Union able to respond quickly and effectively to the challenges of our times.
