The theatrical show ‘I Mille del Ponte’ on stage at the Genoa Aquarium

AND’ dedicated to the workers who have rebuilt the new San Giorgio bridge designed by Renzo Piano in Genoa the theatrical show ‘The Thousand of the Bridge’, which will go on stage Monday 29 November at 9 pm to the Acquaurio of the Ligurian capital, inaugurating l2021 edition of the Genoa Smart Week, an event promoted by the Genova Smart City Association and the Municipality of Genoa.

Written by Massimiliano Lussana was born from an idea of Pietrangelo Buttafuoco and Raffaella Luglini, president of the Ansaldo-Gruppo Leonardo Foundation, the musical and theatrical show brings the portraits presented in the volume of the same name commissioned by the Ansaldo Foundation for the historical archive of Italian work, a photographic story through the faces, hands, calluses, eyes and images of the work – from the demolition to the explosion of the old Morandi Bridge up to the reconstruction – of those who materially “made” the bridge: workers, engineers, welders, management controllers, drivers, dozens of professional categories that are Italian excellences, appreciated all over the world.

On stage, Mario Anvil, singer and actor the mandolinist Manfredi Tumminello and Antonio Vasta, multi-instrumentalist specialized in the instruments of the Sicilian folk tradition, against the background of videos and a playlist of songs from the recent Italian tradition and culture.
