Supernatural horror The wellthe latest directorial effort by Federico Zampaglionewill have its world premiere at Sitges Film Festival 2023where it will be screened on Friday 6 October in the “Midnight X-treme” section, at the Cinema Retiro.
The well sees protagonist Lauren LaVera (Terrifier 2) as Lisa Gray, a young restorer who travels to a small Italian village to bring a medieval painting to its former glory. But little does she know that she is putting her life in danger due to a curse linked to a monster created and nurtured by the most extreme pain.
The director commented: “I am beyond excited to have the world premiere of The well in Sitges, a festival I really love. Being part of the ‘Midnight X-treme’ section is very exciting and it’s the perfect place for my new film… as it’s really very, very extreme! Get ready, comrades!“.

In the cast together with Lauren LaVera are present Claudia Gerini (Diabolik, Love and crime, John Wick – Chapter 2), Giovanni Lombardo Radice (Fear in city of the living dead), Taylor Zaudtke (Sadistic intentions), Linda Zampaglione (Time Is up), Jonathan Dylan King (the Netflix series From scratch – The strength of a love), Lorenzo Renzi (Crime novel – The series), Gianluigi Calvani (The new Pope), Yassine Fadel (the TV series FBI: International), Melanie Gaydos (Insidious: The Last Key), Stefano Martinelli (Anger of the dead) and the newcomer Courage Oviawe.
Written by Zampaglione himself (Shadow – The shadow, Tulpa – Deadly perditions, Morrison) with Stefano Masi, The well is an Iperuranio Film production, produced by Stefano Masi.
