A thriller, a psychological drama and of course a case to solve.
It’s many things “The Crowded room” the miniseries in 10 episodes aired on Apple TV + (also visible on Sky Glass, Sky Q and via the app on Now Smart Stick), interpreted and partly produced by Tom Holland.
The story is the true story of a man (Danny Sullivan played by the English actor) who in 1979 was arrested for his involvement in a shooting in New York. It will be Detective Rya Goodwin, played by Amanda Seyfried discover the mysterious past of a person who is definitely not what it seems.
A series full of twists and emotional loads so much that Holland would have recently said that he wanted to stop and rest a bit.
In his plans, above all, to become a father.

TOM HOLLAND
“What I think is really fascinating about Danny (the character I play) is his conflicting emotionsie the fact that maybe in the same scene can go from excitement to depression.
On the one hand he has great empathy, on the other hand he has a part of darkness and very dangerous thoughts. I have loved playing such an extreme character and I think it’s a great inspiration for any actor to be faced with someone with a personality like that. I loved the part of him that was more dangerous than him as well as the part of him that was more vulnerable than him. It was an opportunity I couldn’t pass up and I’m glad I took it.”
“The thing that scared me the most about this character? I think it was trying to make it as authentic as possible. The topics that are addressed in the series are very serious, because some of the darkest and most profound aspects of the world are dealt with and therefore I felt a great responsibility.
I was very lucky because I had a group of people by my side who followed and supported me in tackling the most delicate aspects and I think that in part I managed to do a good job”.
“This miniseries is enough unique of its kind and I don’t think there are currently others like it.
I hope the audience will realize how peculiar it is and that they will be stimulated while watching. Practically during the episodes a puzzle will be reconstructed and anyone can try to solve it “together with us”.
Plus there are twists that will nail the viewer to his seat.
Overall, I’m really excited that people will like it and I think we’ve all done a really good job and I’m genuinely proud of that.”
AMANDA SEYFRIED
“I think my character is looking for some peace in her life because she has struggled with herself a lot.
She is a woman who in those years (the 70s) tried to always be at the “top” and to reach power in her work because she is very ambitious but at the same time she realizes that she is wasting the best time with her children and is partly losing some things in his personal life.
She is a very compassionate woman and curious about human nature and human relationships. The problem, however, is that she is not curious enough about herself and this is a common aspect: we spend a lot of time helping others but then we forget to help ourselves and put on a mask. This is what my character experiences.”
