Tom Parker, lead singer of The Wanted, was 33 years old

He had been diagnosed with brain cancer

Tom Parker, the lead singer of the British ‘boy band’ The Wanted, has died at the age of 33. He was diagnosed with inoperable brain cancer, a disease Parker himself revealed to fans of him in 2020. The news of the death was given by the band, while the singer’s wife, Kelsey Hardwick, wrote on Instagram: “Our hearts are broken”. She added: “Tom was the center of our world. We can’t imagine his life without his infectious smile and his energetic presence.” “Thanks to everyone who has looked after him all along, he fought to the end. I will always be proud of you,” concluded Hardwick, who married Parker in 2018 and had two children, Aurelia Rose, born in 2019, and Bodhi, born last October.

The band said they were “devastated” by Parker’s death, explaining that they were by his side along with his family when he died. Wanted formed in 2009, with Parker, Max George, Siva Kaneswaran, Nathan Sykes and Jay McGuness. Their hits include ‘Glad You Came’, ‘Chasing The Sun’ and ‘All Time Low’. The group released a hit album last November. Shortly before the album was released, Parker told fans that his brain tumor was “stable” and “under control”.
