Tourism: Alessio Maggi new Hotel Manager of the Grand Hotel Mediterraneo in Florence

The first hotel of the FH55 group

Alessio Maggi is the new Hotel Manager of the Grand Hotel Mediterraneo in Florence, the first hotel of the FH55 group, founded in 1955, and the only one in the city of Giglio with the largest congress centre. Maggi, who has been in the Group for 30 years, was in recent years Hotel Manager of the Hotel Villa Fiesole, another member of FH55, a hotel group that includes four 4-star hotels and two conference centers located between Florence, Fiesole and Rome, led for 60 years from the same family and very attentive to human resources, history and tradition.

Alessio Maggi, therefore, knows the reality of the FH55 group very well, he has experienced all the structures firsthand. He started in 1993 at the Grand Hotel Palatino in Rome; he grew professionally over the years taking on various roles until he arrived in 2007 at the Grand Hotel Mediterraneo in Florence, evolving until 2019. That year he was given the position of deputy director before the Hotel Calzaiuoli and the Hotel Villa Fiesole for two years, and then Deputy Director & Revenue Manager of the group’s hotels in Florence. Now he arrives at the management of the Grand Hotel Mediterraneo, the first hotel of the group.

And another initiative by FH55 is taking place these days: in light of the latest catastrophic events and aware of the enormous impact that the flood has had on local communities, it has decided to take an active role in reconstruction and support. He is committed to being at the side of the flood victims of Emilia Romagna by offering a special dish on the menus of his restaurants, an excellence of Romagna cuisine: Tortellino ‘alla moda di Bologna’ with Parmesan fondue aged 24 months from Vacche Rosse Dop. For each dish sold, 2 euros will be donated to the Fund set up by the Civil Protection in support of the affected populations.
