Giorgio Bissoli, one of the spokespersons of the ‘United we win’ movement, comments with Adnkronos on the intentions of Ursula von der Leyen, president of the EU commission, to withdraw the proposed regulation on agrochemicals.
“We have always said that it is wrong to eliminate medicines for plants if you have no alternatives… It is nice that we are starting to understand that agriculture dies of rules, we hope a path has begun and, in any case, if we have achieved something it is because there is a rebellion in Europe, and certainly not thanks to the unions.” This was stated by Giorgio Bissoli, one of the spokespersons of the ‘United we win’ movement, commenting with Adnkronos on the intentions of the president of the EU commission, Ursula von der Leyen, to withdraw the proposed regulation on agrochemicals.
Meanwhile, the mobilization of tractors continues indefinitely, in particular Bissoli’s movement has organized demonstrations in Rovigo and Bologna. “We have been in action since yesterday afternoon near the Bologna motorway toll booth and yesterday morning we were in Rovigo, with around 500 tractors” he states and explains that farmers who belong to different souls feel the need to share a common platform.
“Tomorrow we will meet among the various coordinators in Italy, without tractors, to draw a common line, we are currently deciding on a place” announces Bissoli who is a contractor from Verona. “There are many of us, in no particular order, but we are not on Danilo Calvani’s line, we don’t know what his objective is” Bissoli specifies, distancing himself from the former pitchfork. “We are agricultural companies that want to survive – he explains – there will be a thousand of us from Lombardy, Veneto, Emilia Romagna, but we are in contact with those who have gone to Rome and are deciding in these hours what to do in agreement with the Prefecture, the various spokesmen also for the Riscatto Agricolo movement. Everyone says we need to go to Rome, and sooner or later we will go there” comments the agricultural entrepreneur.
