Thus the undersecretary of state at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, on the sidelines of the third and final day of the fifth edition of “‘SUDeFUTURI’, energies in the south between history and innovation
“We are investing significantly in culture in the south both as the Ministry of Culture and as the Farnesina”. This was stated by Maria Tripodi, undersecretary of state at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, on the sidelines of the third and final day of the fifth edition of “‘SUDeFUTURI’, energies in the south between history and innovation. Resources, obstacles and opportunities. The international meeting organized by the Magna Grecia Foundation, first in the nineteenth-century Villa Matarazzo of Santa Maria di Castellabate, then at the archaeological park of Paestum, represents an important moment of discussion on the possible futures of Southern Italy and sees participation as a media partnership of the Pubbliemme–Diemmecom group –LaC Network–ViaCondotti21, the collaboration of AdnKronos and the Pio Alferano Foundation, the patronage of the Municipalities of Castellabate, Capaccio Paestum and the Cilento National Park.
“We have implemented tenders that also help culturally the tourism that exists throughout southern Italy, but we are ambitious and these are only the first initiatives carried out – added Tripodi – It is clear that in the next few years of government we will activate further initiatives that can finally give a driver of growth to the economy. Culture is a great industry because we are a cultural super power. We must not focus only on sites and monuments: in Italy when we talk about culture we talk about music, art, entertainment Culture fully reflects our identity and I am convinced that also in view of the next G7 of culture, where Italy will have the presidency in 2024, we will be able to start a relaunch for all the initiatives we need to do. We must not hide that for too many years culture has only been the prerogative of exploitation and instead of strengthening it it was preferred to make a flag of a political party”.
