Prevention is young. This is the theme of the 2023 edition of the Tennis & Friends – Salute e Sport tour which returns to Turin for the 3rd edition, from 15 to 17 September at the Sporting Press Club. The Piedmontese stage, Official Charity of the Nitto ATP Finals, will inaugurate the European Sports Week by relaunching the importance of practicing sport, correct lifestyles and prevention with the setting up of the new Health Village in collaboration with the Local Health Authority of the City of Turin. Forty-eight different specialists, over 70 health stations, over 200 specialists from the excellent health facilities of the city of Turin will field everything that, under the name of information and screening, identifies with prevention, from education healthcare to the free clinical pathway, passing through early diagnosis.
“As a medical professor and founder and president of Tennis & Friends, Health and Sport are at the forefront of defending health through prevention, the promotion of sport and correct lifestyles”, underlines Giorgio Meneschincheri, observing that the theme of The 2023 edition is dedicated to prevention and young people because “children are our present and our future and the opening day of our events is always dedicated to them, with the involvement of local schools who are invited to participate in multiple activities. Tennis and Friends Salute e Sport wants to be an event in which institutions, associations, health facilities, sports federations can communicate their activities by promoting health and sport”. Among the prevention courses present in the village set up at the Circolo della Stampa Spirting, Audiometry, Pediatric Audiometry, Cardiovascular, Cholesterolemia, Heart, Dermatology, Diabetology, Physiotherapy, Gynecology and Senology, Hcv Injuries and Low Back Pain, Respiratory Diseases, Occupational Medicine, Health Medicine Sport, Child Neuropsychiatry, Clinical Nutrition, Ophthalmology, Otorhinolaryngology, Pediatrics, Pulmonology, Podiatry and Sport, Pediatric Psychology, Radiology, Rehabilitation, Pediatric functional rehabilitation, Thyroid, Hearing, Urology.
The Tennis and Friends Health and Sport project promoted by the non-profit organization Friends For Health was born in 2011 with the aim of conveying to the population the culture of prevention which is articulated in the practice of sport and in undergoing regular medical checks through the organization of open events to a large audience of all ages in which the approach to sport and the possibility of accessing free specialist screenings are encouraged.
From 2011 to today, Tennis & Friends has registered 400,000 visitors and has favored free check-ups for around 190,000 people, recording a constant growth in attendance of 20%. Tennis & Friends – Health and Sport is supported, among others, by the European Parliament, the European Commission, the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, the ministries of Defence, Health, Education and Merit, Sport and Youth and Tourism, the Lazio and Piedmont Regions, Rome Capital , City of Turin, Asl City of Turin, State Police, Guardia di Finanza, Defense Staff, Italian Red Cross, Coni and Sport e Salute Spa, is sponsored by the Italian Association of Head and Neck Oncology and takes place in collaboration with the Italian Tennis and Padel Federation and Nitto Atp Finals.
