The first phase of the transition to new digital terrestrial, which will end in January 2023 with the activation of the transmission standard DVBT-2 (Digital Video Broadcasting – Second Generation Terrestrial) nationwide. Here’s what changes, how to see all the channels and bonuses designed to facilitate the change of televisions

To see them, you need to have a television or a decoder compatible with high definition. The devices sold by the 2010 on. If the model works with HD, it will be sufficient to retune the 15 channels

THE TEST – To make sure your decoder or TV supports high definition, the Ministry of Economic Development, on the official website of the new digital terrestrial, recommends checking if at least one of the channels 501 (Raiuno HD), 505 (Canale 5 HD) or 507 (LA7 HD) works. If the answer is yes, even the channels that now run in HD will be able to be seen

THE NEXT STEPS – The next changes will be even more important: we will move from the Dvb-T system to the Dvb-T2 and all the old channels will be shut down to make room for the new ones

THE MISE BONUSES – The Ministry of Economic Development is making two bonuses available to citizens so as not to burden them too much with the costs of digital changes. The first is the Bonus TV-Decoder. With value up to 30 EUR, is a discount for the purchase of new devices, available from 2019 and up to December 31, 2022 or until resources run out (151 million euros)

The TV-Decoder Bonus can be requested by families with ISEE as far as 20 thousand euros. The contribution will be recognized per household (only one user per household can receive it for the purchase of a single appliance)

Different is the TV scrapping bonus which, operational from 23 August 2021, is a benefit that can be benefited from scrapping a TV purchased before December 22, 2018, the effective date of the HEVC MAIN 10 coding standard adopted by the new technology

Aimed at favoring the replacement of obsolete television sets through the correct disposal of electronic waste, it only applies for the replacement of TVs and not for decoders. It has no ISEE limit and is granted only once for the purchase of a single appliance
