A modern and equipped with every comfort for the outward journey while for the return the sovereign and his wife will go up on the traditional one which has been used in every coronation since William IV in 1831 onwards

The journey traveled by King Charles III and his queen consort Camilla will be the same as the outward and return journeys and will be approximately 2.3 kilometers long. The royal couple will leave Buckingham Palace for Westminster Abbey in the Diamond Jubilee State Coachthe carriage built for Queen Elizabeth in 2012 when the 60th anniversary of her reign was commemorated

It is equipped with every comfort and has electric windows, air conditioning and suspension. It has only ever been used by Queen Elizabeth IIoccasionally accompanied by Prince Philip or visiting heads of state. Her first trip was to the opening of Parliament on 4 June 2014

Drawn by six Windsor Gray horses and accompanied by the Sovereign’s Household Cavalry escort, she is surmounted by a golden crown carved from oak and taken from the timbers of HMS Victory, Nelson’s flagship at the Battle of Trafalgar. The carriage weighs 2.75 tons and is 5.5 meters long by 3.4 meters high

The interior of the Diamond Jubilee Stay Coach is inlaid with woods, metals and other materials from buildings and places connected to the UK and its history.
